Thanks to everyone who posted. I am a volunteer for the Eat Well Guide, so it's great to see people interested in our site and services. Poultry season is coming up again, and I thought you would appreciate our newest venture. . Eat Well has teamed up with the Consumers Union, nonprofit publisher of Consumer Reports, to issue a Local, Organic Thanksgiving Challenge. We’re inviting people to take a spin on the Eat Well Guide to find local food and cook at least one local (preferably organic) dish for Thanksgiving, and share recipes at the CU site. Read more about it at the Green Fork. [http://blog.eatwellguide.org/2008/11/take-the-local-organic-thanksgiving-challenge/]. Hope you check us out. Thanks! - Jenn

MetroKnow you have done it again! These are great resources. I found a farmer within 45 minutes of me that has grass fed beef, pastured chicken, pastured eggs (yum) and raw honey. I found them through my farmers market. They are actually cheaper than stores and I can either pick up from the market or he will deliver to my home for $10. He is just like you said, not online but you can visit his farm. The meat and eggs are better than any I've tasted and I'm finally a meat eater. I never liked the taste of beef and just tolerated chicken now I love the taste because it's grown naturally, on grass.

The Tropical Traditions chicken is very very good. Since I live so close to them my chicken arrived the same day. The meat comes from local WI farmers and 100% grass fed. Since I found a farmer (after much research) I don't know if I'll use the Tropical Traditions as much but it is well worth it. I will continue to buy organic coconut oil from them.

The best thing that has happened since eating real food is my son is so interested in healthy food and tells everyone what we are eating and why. Doesn't get any better than that!

Sorry if I hogged the comments - real food is very dear to me.
Thanks for the great resources.

I am lucky because I live in a rural farm based economic area. Most people even have a friend that would raise a few chickens for them. We get advertising flyers in the mail regularly as well. I just have to go a few miles down the road. :)
