I like the weight loss goal. Stay motivated and you'll reach it. Just be patience. Nothing good happens over night.

@Andrew - thanks!

@Jen - thanks again.

@Kathleen - Hi there! Sounds like a great idea on getting up early. I did that for a while and really enjoyed the quiet, and the strong start to the day. Keep up the good work on the #10lbs goal - every bit makes a difference. I always use the old trick of picking up something that weighs 5lbs (or whatever the amount is that I've lost) and taking pride in the fact that I'm not dragging that around anymore. Works!

@John - I truly appreciate the visit (and I'll be swinging by your blogs today, btw). Ya know I was sure that I'd heard it somewhere about keeping the body guessing (thus the parentheses), and of course you're right. Really encouraging to me that it has worked for you in the past - I greatly respect that fact.

Actually, the concept of "keeping your body guessing" is a well understood method. I used it when I was younger along with fasting because your body learns to expect certain foods and schedules and becomes accustomed to working around them. By doing that, you constantly make your body's nutritional updake system keep working differently. Good job Jeremy!

Yowza! Glad you are feeling better and your wife is looking out for you.

As you know, I jumped on the 10 lbs in January bandwagon after reading your initial post. It's been a little more up and down for me, but I've lost at least 5 lbs. I'll take it. And I think I'm learning from the experience.

This week's goal is to get up at 5:00 a.m., and I've checked off day 1! This goal is partly fitness and partly time/stress management. I'm doing a short workout when I get up, and making sure I eat a good breakfast.
